trying to be interesting for SNAKE

So last night after we got home from dinner at [info]indyselsa's, we were sitting on the porch and talking about Edward Scissorhands and this CREEPY DUDE ambled up the porch steps and asked if we had a light. We found a lighter and handed it to him and he started talking about how he got a flat tire on the interstate and walked all the way here because his parents live down the street but they're at bingo tonight and his wife and daughter are still in the car and all he needs is four fitty to get some fix-a-flat and go home. At this point he was sitting on the porch wall going on and on quite conversationally and we both acted politely interested because jesus what if we offended this guy and he decided to shiv us. Eventually I take a handful of quarters out of my purse and give them to him and say THIS IS ALL I'VE GOT, GOOD LUCK BUDDY and he took off after many THANKS and GOD BLESS YOUs. Jason said that he didn't look like he was checking out the house for ways to break in later, which made me feel better, but I still kept my purse locked in our room with us last night. I don't know, that kind of situation always weirds me out because NORMAL people don't waltz up onto your porch and solicit money from you. CREEPY!

In other news, I am going to lunch with my dad, after which we will go to my aunt's house and pick out my new kittens. I wish Jason could go but apparently my aunt is in really bad shape lately (neck/back injury) and goes to bed at like 5:00 p.m. so going over after work is sort of out of the question. We are still up in the air on the girl kitten name. Liz suggested "Gertrude" which I love but Jason feels is "too heavy." I wish his friend Chris didn't already have a cat named Beatrice because I love that name for a cat.

Most important of all, HAPPY BIRTHDAY [info]sallybanner, you are my sunshine. (Our love is like a storybook story.)

thank you, you are the apple of my eye, thats why I'll always be around.

that story, about leaving your wife and kids in the car, is as old as the hills. beggars are so unoriginal.

yeah, he had some weirdness going on too, but it was a very well executed story. after he got the money he chugged off. It was very elaborate. I've installed new locks and added chains on all the doors, so I wasnt that worried.
